Abstract:
This study investigates the influence of work–family conflict on turnover intention among banking employees in Haryana, India. Data were collected from 618 clerical and officer-cadre employees of public- and private-sector commercial banks across the six administrative divisions of Haryana. Structural equation modeling was used to test the hypothesized relationship. The results confirm that WFC has a significant positive effect on turnover intention (β = 0.815, p = 0.004), explaining 66.4% of the variance in turnover intention among respondents. The findings suggest that role conflict between professional duties and family responsibilities is a key antecedent of employees' propensity to quit, and they underscore the importance of organizational support and work–life balance policies as retention levers in the Indian banking sector.
