Abstract:
The growing accumulation of electronic waste (e-waste) poses significant environmental challenges worldwide. This study investigates the partial replacement of natural coarse aggregates with Printed Motherboard (PMB) e-waste in concrete as a sustainable disposal solution. Concrete mixes of M25 and M30 grades were prepared with 4%, 8%, and 12% PMB replacements, and tested for workability, compressive strength, flexural strength, splitting tensile strength, and durability after 7 and 28 days of curing.
Results indicate that up to 4% replacement maintains acceptable mechanical performance while enhancing workability and acid resistance. However, higher replacement levels led to strength reductions, limiting their use to non-structural applications. This research highlights the potential of PMB e-waste as a partial aggregate substitute, contributing to sustainable construction and responsible e-waste management.
